This next go round with shadows was no accidental find as in my previous post. I had a wonderful studio in an old building with exposures facing east, north and west. It also had old wooden double hung windows with some panes of wavy glass. I staged a photograph one sunny afternoon using large sheets of foam core on my easel. Again, the color is added. This painting is the first one where I began using mostly colors straight from the tube. There is also lots of glazing and wiping out (and even a few token drips!).
Here is a more detailed view of the central panel.
At 32″ x 87″ this is by far the largest painting I have ever done. It is painted on three wood panels of equal size. More work to be seen at amrfineart.com.
